The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to join a highly differentiated firm at a critical inflection point. As Director of Business Development, you will play a central role in our capital formation efforts, working directly with the CEO to build and deepen relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and strategic partners. You will not be inheriting a static book of business—you will be helping to build something.

What You Will Do

  • Lead investor outreach and relationship management with institutional LPs, family offices, endowments, and other allocators.
  • Drive the firm’s capital raising efforts in coordination with senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Manage ongoing LP communications and relationship maintenance.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, investor meetings, and roadshows.
  • Contribute to the development of investor materials, presentations, and due diligence responses.

Who You Are

  • You have existing relationships with institutional investors—this is essential.
  • You have 7+ years of experience in business development, investor relations, or capital raising, ideally at a hedge fund, private equity firm, or placement agent.
  • You understand the alternative investment landscape and can speak credibly with sophisticated allocators.
  • You are a self-starter who operates well with autonomy and takes ownership of outcomes.
  • You communicate clearly and persuasively, in writing and in person.
  • You are willing to travel to meet investors and represent the firm on the road.
  • Series 7 license preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $140,000 – $180,000, commensurate with experience
  • Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and firm performance
  • Equity participation in the firm
  • Flexible work arrangement, with New York City as home base
